Beware of bid’ah

Sadly we see some people following certain wrong aspects of certain societies and when some of them are advised to leave the wrong and follow the Qur'an and the Sunnah, some of them refuse.

Example: Some people celebrate what some call "birthdays" and when some advise them
that it is a baseless celebration and advise them to stay away from it, some refuse to listen. Some say "many people are doing it."

Well many people are wrong. It is truly sad how a certain sane person would want to do wrong knowingly.

Another example: it is very common among some people in certain places to shake hands with the non-Mahrams. There are some people who may wrongly label it as being "friendly". But the fact is: what is wrong, is wrong.

We have to be firm to stay away from such things.

May Allah protect us from fitan.

Both intentions and actions are important. A person cannot steal money from the rich and give it to the poor saying that his intention is good.

One of the many ways in which some people fool themselves is by saying that their intention is good and they don't check what is the sunnah.

Celebrations must be done in accordance with the sunnah.

(Translation of Meaning)
It was narrated that Anas bin Malik(radhi Allahu Anhu) said:
"The people of the Jahiliyyah had two days each year when they would play. When the Messenger of Allah (sall Allahu alaihi wa sallam) came to Al-Madinah he said: 'You had two days when you would play, but Allah has given Muslims something instead that is better than them: the day of Al-Fitr and the day of Al-Adha.'" (Sahih)

----------

Next time anyone wants to celebrate your "birthday" and other innovated celebrations...think about what you are doing....

* Islam is perfect; one cannot add, subtract or modify any aspect of the Deen.
--Possible translation of the meaning of a part of a verse from Surat Al Maidah
(..."This day I have "perfected" for you your deen and "completed" My favor upon you and have approved for you Islam as deen".....)(5:3)

--Possible translation of the meaning of two verses from Surat Aali' Imran
Say, [O Muhammad], "If you should love Allah , then follow me, [so] Allah will love you and forgive you your sins. And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful."(31)
Say, "Obey Allah and the Messenger." But if they turn away - then indeed, Allah does not like the disbelievers.(32)

I read this hadeeth that is in Sunan an-Nasa'i and it has been graded as sahih according to (http://sunnah.com/nasai/19/23) :(translation of the meaning)It was narrated that Jabir bin 'Abdullah said: "In his Khutbah the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم used to praise Allah as He deserves to be praised, then he would say: 'Whomsoever Allah guides, none can lead him astray, and whomsoever Allah sends astray, none can guide. The truest of word is the Book of Allah and best of guidance is the guidance of Muhammad. The worst of things are those that are newly invented; every newly-invented thing is an innovation and every innovation is going astray, and every going astray is in the Fire.'......................(the Hadeeth continues)
